The Federal Government has reassured Nigerians living in the United Kingdom that they will pay no additional charges for the ongoing special passport intervention exercise.
In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Minister of Interior on Media and Publicity, Alao Babatunde, the minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo says the process does not come with extra cost different from the official fees of $150 and $230 for a five-year and ten-year validity passports respectively, exclusive of bank charges.
Tunji-Ojo noted that any demand for additional payments beyond these approved fees is not part of the government-approved process.
The Minister further said consultations are ongoing with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to address the challenges associated with the intervention and ensure Nigerians in the UK are not subjected to unnecessary inconvenience.

He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to improving services for Nigerians at home and abroad, stressing that the administration remains focused on providing succour and making government services more accessible.
The special intervention was introduced to provide Nigerians in the United Kingdom with more options to process their international passport applications
