The Nigerian government has renamed the Idu train station in Abuja and the light rail, also in the Federal Capital territory Abuja, after Amina Mohammed, the deputy secretary-general of the United Nations.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Director press, Federal Ministry of Transportation, Eric Ojiekwe.

The statement added that the recognition given to the deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, was part of the effort by the Government, to encourage Nigerians who have not only represented the Nation well, but made remarkable achievements in their fields of endeavor at home and in the diaspora.
The rail facilities will henceforth be known as Amina Mohammed train station and light rail.
