The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, FCCPC, has warned vendors, manufacturers, and stakeholders in the supply chain, against the forced ripening of fruits, adulterated palm oil, conventional meat, and grains in Nigerian markets.
They gave the warning in Bauchi, during a one-day sensitisation programme in the state capital with participants drawn from markets.
The Commission reminds customers on their rights which according to them, are paramount to their health, with the disturbing increase in incidences of food production and processing.

According to the Commission, they are committed to protecting consumers and ensuring that they have access to safe and high-quality food.
They say that very soon, the Commission will clamp down on those who are in the habit of putting people’s lives at risk.
