The Federal Government says it has reached a bilateral agreement with its German counterpart on the repatriation of one thousand one hundred and thirty looted Benin bronzes back to the country.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, while interacting with the media in Lagos, Saturday, on the latest development says, contrary to the pleas in some quarters, that the repatriated Edo artefacts from Germany be returned to the Benin monarch’s palace, as customs demand, the Federal Government has the exclusive right of custody of the returned artefacts, in line with international best practices.
