FG sets a 12-member Inter-ministerial committee on Nigeria’s 61st Independence Anniversary.

The Federal Government has set up a 12-member Inter-ministerial committee on Nigeria’s 61st Independence Anniversary.

The 12 – membership committee includes:

1) SGF – Chairman
2) Minister of Information – member
3) Minister of the Interior – member
4) FCT Minister – member
5) Minister of Industry, trade and investment – member
6) Minister of Health – member
7) Director General (DSS) – member
8) Commander, Brigade of Guards – member
9) Permanent Secretary, State House (Liaison with the National Mosque) – member
10) Permanent Secretary, General Services Office ( Liaison with Ecumenical center) – member
11) Inspector General of Police – member
12) Permanent Secretary, Political and Economic Affairs Office – member/ Secretary.

The terms of reference for the inter-ministerial committee include:

1) Plan, organize and ensure all approved activities, befitting the 61st-anniversary celebration on October 1st

2) Co-opt any organization (s) person(s) relevant, towards the successful execution of the programmes

3) Document for posterity, all planned activities for the anniversary

4) Carry out any other assignment as may be required, towards the successful execution of the programme.
