FG targets 5% GDP from Ajaokuta Steel Project by 2025

Minister of Mines and Steel, Olamilekan Adegbite says the Federal Government is making frantic efforts to revive the Ajaokuta Steel Rolling Mills in Kogi State for sustainable growth and development of the country.

Speaking at a briefing in Abuja, the Minister said the Nigerian and Russian Governments have a bilateral agreement to resuscitate the Ajaokuta  Steel Rolling Mills. Adegbite added that the project will be a major step towards attaining the set target of providing

 government with 5 percent of its GDP from by 2025.

About $1.45 billion funding for the Ajaokuta Steel Rolling Mills revival project will be made available from 2 sources, which include the Russian Export Centre and the Afrexim Bank.
