The Federal Government is set to boost digital connectivity across over 200 State-owned institutions in Enugu State, South East Nigeria.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, during a meeting with Governor Peter Mbah at the Lion Building, Enugu State Government House, on Thursday.

The technical meeting between the two top government officials was to strategize on key areas of collaboration.

The Minister described Enugu’s digital progress as a model on how subnational governments can take bold steps in building a thriving, inclusive, tech-driven society.

To further support this vision, Bosun Tijani announced several key projects that the Federal Government, through his Ministry, is set to implement in Enugu, including the establishment of a Digital Innovation Complex and improved internet connectivity for state-owned institutions.

For Governor Mbah, the State government remains equally committed to harnessing the full potential of the digital economy as a means to diversify Enugu’s revenue base.

To ensure a smooth execution, both governments have agreed to form a joint Committee, comprising representatives from the State and the Federal Ministry, to oversee the implementation of these projects.
