As part of the commitment of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration towards repositioning and addressing the challenges in the health sector, the Federal Government has inaugurated the construction of the Oncology Diagnostic and Catheterisation Laboratory Centre at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, ATBUTH, Bauchi State, North East Nigeria.
The event, which is being conducted simultaneously across ten different centres in the six geopolitical zones of the country, is aimed at improving the health care sector across the nation, under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Ali Pate, and the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, said the President is committed to changing the narrative of the country’s health challenges for the better, and urged the people to support the initiative.

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, appreciated the Federal Government for including the state among the beneficiaries of the initiative, expressing confidence that the development would not only address the health deficit, but also hunger and anger.

In their separate remarks, the Chief Medical Director, ATBUTH, Professor Yusuf Bara, and Chief Executive Officer Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority Aminu Sadiq said that when completed, the projects would provide solutions to many health-related challenges, especially medical trips abroad, among others.

The ministers had paid homage to the Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Sulaiman, to receive royal blessing, as the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Ali Pate, wore a turban, being the traditional title of Mainasaran Bauchi, meaning, “The Victorious Man of Bauchi.”
