The Nigerian Government in collaboration with UNICEF are supporting the Kebbi State Government with facilities to boost health care in the state.
While handing over the facilities to the state government, UNICEF Representative, Cristina Munduate, said Nigeria is among three countries with reported cases of polio in the world, and Kebbi State is one of the four states with reported cases.
The facilities include three operational vehicles and a befitting premises to serve as the Polio Emergency Operation Centre.
He expressed hope that the facilities will be optimally utilised to reach every child especially in hard-to-reach areas of the state.

Head of the Kebbi State Civil Service, Safiyanu Bena who represented the state governor at the handover, commended the donor agencies for their support to the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, and promised judicious use of the facilities, for the purpose of reaching children, adding that the state government would monitor their activities.
The Executive Director of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Muyi Aina, called on the Kebbi State Government to provide an Incident Manager, competent of managing all health related issues.
He called for better synergy among the three tiers of government in for maximum results in the area of vaccine-preventable disease among children.
