Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, says government will continue to work with relevant Authorities to ensure domestication of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act to address all forms of Gender Based Violence in the country.
The minister who gave the assurance in a message to Stakeholders meeting with development partners on Tuesday in Abuja, explained that the fight against Gender Based Violence needs collective efforts to succeed.
Facilitators of the event say the culture of silence over all manners of violence in Nigeria needs to be broken.
The theme of the event is, “Making Communities Safer: The Role Of Students in the fight against Gender Based Violence in Nigeria.”
