Minister of State, Foreign Affairs Amb Zubairu Dada has said Nigeria must stop ignoring its human capital and material resources in the Diaspora if it hopes to attain rapid socio-economic, cultural, and political development.
Dada said this at the inaugural Diaspora Quarterly Lecture Series geared towards mobilizing Nigerians in the diaspora for national development.
The Minister of State, Foreign Affairs said Nigerians in diaspora are the catalysts the country need for accelerated development.
The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, said current shortage of passports will soon be resolved as government was working hard to clear all application backlogs.

This was as the Chaiman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri- Erewa explained that the Diaspora Quarterly Lecture Series is projected to be a major aspect of national discourse, where Nigerians can be kept abreast of the government’s policies, programmes and projects in Nigeria and the Diaspora community.
Over 2,000 participants joined the Inaugural Diaspora Quarterly Lecture Series via webinar.
