Vice President Kashim Shettima has lauded the initiative of Google to provide N1.2 billion grant to support the Tinubu administration’s 1 million digital jobs scheme.
The Vice President said this on Tuesday when he received some of the executives of the leading global technology company, at the Presidential Villa Abuja.
Shettima assures the company executives that Nigeria is ready for business and will partner any genuine investor to harness the potentials of the country’s huge population of young people to create jobs in the digital sector.
The Director of Google West Africa, Olumide Balogun said the company is excited about the Tinubu administration’s vision of creating one million digital jobs and will commit over N1.2 billion in grants to support the initiative.

He said the company through the programme would provide digital skills to over 20,000 youths and women to enhance and improve their lives and livelihoods, and also enable several startups grow and create thousands of jobs in the sector.
