After an inspiring opening day victory against Chins at the FIBA U-19 WOMEN’s world cup, NIGERIA’s junior tigresses fell against Canada in their second game group match. Nigeria lost by 71 points 42-113.
Fans were still basking in the euphoria of Nigeria’s opening day win against China on Saturday and were in high expectations against Canada. However, the tigress capitulated.
The Junior tigress were on the back foot from the jump ball trailing by 42 points at half time with score at 62-16.
Agot makeer scored a game high 18 points and five rebounds to earn the player of the match award while four other players also scored double digits including Ninadeng eich and Oliver Leung who combined for 30 points.
Canada team paraded theee Nigerians, Ifeoma Nwaobi, Rachael Okokoh including assistant coach chioma Achonwa.
Nigeria will face Portugal next on Tuesday, aiming for an outright win.
