Nine-time winners of the Africa Women’s Nations Cup, Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been drawn in Group B of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup scheduled for Australia and New Zealand.
The draw which held on Saturday at the Aoeta Centre in Auckland puts Nigeria up against hosts Australia, Republic of Ireland who are making their debut and two-time champions Canada.

The Super Falcons will face Canada in their first group match on July 21, 2023 at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium before taking on co-hosts, Australia at Lang Park in Brisbane six days later. They will conclude their group phase matches against the Republic of Ireland also at Lang park on July 31.
African champions, South Africa will face 2003 runners up, Sweden in their opening game of Group G as Argentina and Italy complete the teams in the group.
Morocco will slug it out with two-time champions, Germany in Group H while Colombia and South Korea will face each other in their opener.
Co-hosts, New Zealand are in Group A along with 1995 champions, Norway, Philippines who are making their debut and Switzerland.
Record champions, the United States of America will begin their title defence against debutants Vietnam in Group E which also has the Netherlands and a yet to be decided qualifier from the 10-team tournament play-off.
European champions, England are in Group D alongside perennial quarter-finalists Denmark and 1999 runners-up China along with a qualifier from the play-off.
Group F has France, Jamaica, Brazil and the third qualifier in Group C of the play-off.
