An intelligence tip off has led to police arrest of Fatima Salisu, a 21-year-old female gunrunning suspect
Salisu, from Funtua Local Government of Katsina State was apprehended with 481 rounds of ammunition.
According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer Ramhan Nansel the suspect was intercepted in Azuba, in Shabu Administrative area of Lafia Local Government on her way to deliver an arms consignment to criminals elements in Katsina
The statement further explained that the State Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, on receiving the tip-off, ordered the deployment of the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit leading to the arrest of the suspect and the recovery of the ammunition.

The suspect is said to be in police custody and undergoing interrogation as investigators work to dismantle the arms trafficking network.
