Fighting Insecurity: Delta police nab suspected kidnappers

Two suspected kidnappers have been apprehended by the police in Delta state.

The suspects, all male, Lucky Owofasa and one Kparobo have been on the police trail for some time following their involvement in various kidnapping incidents including the recent killing of a tricycle rider identified as Efe Peter, aged 26, in Udu local government area.

Further investigations by the police also revealed that the suspects are members of a kidnapping syndicate.

The police command in a statement issued by its spokesperson Bright Edafe wants residents to always be vigilant about happenings around them, considering the sudden rise in the spate of killings and kidnappings in the state.

The command however assured residents that it will not relent in protecting life and property.

Items recovered from the suspects include, one cut-to-size locally made single barrel gun, one cartridge, two expended cartridges and one tricycle.

The statement also mentioned that one of the suspects who sustained serious gunshot injuries died at the hospital while receiving medical attention.
