Fire broke out in a section of the federal secretariat complex in Asaba, the Delta State capital on Tuesday morning.
Property was destroyed by the fire believed to be as a result of a power surge from one of the air conditioners installed in the national youth service corps office in the secretariat building.

The fire started at around 7 am but the fire servicemen on the scene were initially helpless as the complex was locked after the previous day’s work.
