Fire engulfs soldier quarter in Chindit barrack at Nigerian Army Depot, Zaria

A soldier quarter in Chindit barracks at the Nigerian Army Depot, Zaria has been engulfed by fire.

The fire which started around 10 pm on Saturday affected a section of the roof of the second floor of block 15 of the barracks.

The affected block is not anywhere close to the military training facilities of the Nigerian Army Depot, according to a source from the barrack who pleaded anonymity when contacted by ait.live.

According to the Director Relief, Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency SEMA, Ya’u Mahmud, who spoke to ait.live, the cause of the fire was not known.

He said that the fire was put off shortly after it started and no casualty was recorded.
