Fire outbreak on Tuesday morning at the Plateau State Specialist Hospital in Jos, the state capital has destroyed equipment and facilities worth millions of Naira.
Although no life was lost, AIT.live gathered that the fire which was reportedly first noticed around 4am razed down the entire Laboratory section of the Hospital.
Efforts to reach the Medical Director of the Hospital or member of top management to speak on the incident was unsuccessful. However, a member of staff who was an eye witness spoke to AIT.live but does not want his name mentioned said the fire outbreak destroyed several medical apparatus, office appliances and equipment valued at millions of Naira.


According to the source, all newly acquired equipment for the Hospital laboratory was razed down during the fire incident.

The incident was also said to have created commotion among patients hospitalised in the facility, but no life was lost.
As at the time of filing this report, the fire was being put off by the Plateau State Fire Service while normalcy was gradually returning to the Hospital.
