A fire outbreak has occurred at the ongoing construction site of Terminal One at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos.
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN confirmed the incident in a public statement issued on Monday.
The Authority assured passengers and stakeholders that no casualties were recorded.
According to FAAN, its Airport Rescue and Firefighting unit responded immediately after the fire was detected, swiftly deploying equipment to contain the blaze and prevent further escalation.
Controlled evacuation procedures were activated as a precautionary measure to safeguard passengers and airport personnel within the vicinity.
FAAN says emergency response operations are ongoing, with firefighters working to completely extinguish the fire.

Safety officers are also carrying out structural integrity assessments at the affected section of the construction site.
The incident was confined to the construction area of Terminal One, and flight operations across other parts of the airport were not significantly disrupted.
Airport authorities maintained order while directing passengers to designated safe areas.
To reinforce containment efforts, FAAN activated its mutual aid arrangements, drawing support from the Lagos State Government, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency.
