The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has confirmed that its office in Orlu, Imo State, was razed by fire at the early hours of Monday .
The INEC Director Publicity and Voter Education, Oluwole Osazee-Uzi, told AIT that the Commission also received report of another fire incident in one of its offices in Anambra State over the weekend.
Uzi said though the source of the fire is not known yet, but that it is worrisome to hear of continuous burning down of the Commission’s facilities in states and local government areas which may not be unconnected to controversies surrounding political rivalry.
