Five Peoples Democratic Party Governorship aspirants in Ekiti State have rejected Saturday’s ward congress to elect three Ad-hoc delegates in each of the 177 wards in the state, alleging that the process was hijacked.

The aggrieved aspirants are a former governor of the state, Chief Segun Oni; a former Deputy Governor in the State, Prof Kolapo Olusola; Senator Biodun Olujimi; former PDP National Treasurer, Wale Aribisala; and a former Senatorial aspirant; Lateef Ajijola.

The aspirants expressed their displeasure in a protest in Ado Ekiti on Monday.

They accused the Congress Committee chaired by Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, of not following due process.

According to them, the results of the exercise which ought to hold across the different wards were manufactured and recorded in a hotel in the Fajuyi area of the State.

Only one aspirant, Kayode Adaramodu accepted the outcome of the delegate congress in his local Government.
