Five suspected Cameroonian kidnappers arrested in Calabar

Eleven suspected Criminals, including five Cameroonian Nationals, have been arrested by the Cross River Police Command for alleged kidnapping and other criminals offenses.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Irene Ugbo the Police said a team attached to Marine Division at Mfum in Etung Local Government Areas while on routine patrol of waterways arrested the 5 Cameroonians suspected to be members of a separatist group in Cameroun.

Jimoh said the Cameroonians have kidnapped 11 persons including Nigerians and Cameroonians before they were apprehended.

The statement further explained that a 16 year old boy was among them and 3 Revolvers were recovered from them including 5 live cartridges

He said Investigation has since commenced and further development will be communicated.

Jimoh further explained that some black spots were raided at Edim Otop area and other parts of Calàbar where six other criminals that were arrested will be charged to court soon.
