The Nigeria U-17 women’s football team, the Flamingos opened their camp on Wednesday in Abuja,
The head coach, Olowookere Bankole released the list of 25 invited players for the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Qualifying match against Burkina Faso.
The Nigeria team will face Burkina Faso in the first leg on the 11th of May, 2024 in Burkina Faso while the return leg will hold in Abuja, Nigeria.
All the invited players arrived camp on Wednesday in Abuja. Some of the invited players include: Nwachukwu Prisca, Adebayo Jumai, Adegoke Khadija, Ibrahim Ayoade, Olowookere Oluwatoyin, Azeez Rokibat, Okezie Onyedikachi.
Others are Afolabi Taiwo, Aderemi Mary, Moshood Shakira, Isiaka Ololade, Abdulwahab Farida, Joseph Queen among others.

The African qualifier organised by CAF has four rounds to be played between 8 December 2023 and 16 June 2024 with last round coming up between May and June 2024
Ethiopia will face Kenya and Morocco slug it out with Algeria while Nigeria goes toe to toe with Burkina Faso. The three winners in the two legged games will represent Africa at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The already qualified nations for the world cup are: Brazil, Colombia, host country Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, New Zealand and USA
This year’s U-17 Women’s World Cup will be the last to feature 16 teams before the increase to 24 for the next edition.
In the remaining qualifying competitions to make up the participating 16 countries, a total of three teams from the Asian AFC, three from CAF, three from CONMEBOL, three from UEFA, two from Concacaf and one from the OFC will take part in the tournament.
The 16 participating teams will be divided into four groups of four.The top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter finals. This will be followed by semi-finals, a match for third place and the final.
FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2024 takes place from 16 October to 3 November
Spain won their second title in the competition in 2022 in India.
This will be the first time that the Dominican Republic are hosting a FIFA tournament.
The Nigeria’s Flamigos beat Germany on penalties to win bronze in the last edition in 2022
