Flood victims from Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State, North-Central Nigeria sheltered by the Catholic Diocese of Idah in the last six weeks say, the kind gesture shown to them will ever remain fresh in their memories.
At an event organised by the Bishop of the Diocese, Anthony Adaji as they return to their communities, the internally displaced persons said the message of Christ has become clearer to them expressed in the love shown to them during their time of need by the Catholic Church.
For over six weeks, the Catholic Diocese of Idah evacuated flood victims from Ibaji and accommodated them at the Diocesan Pastoral Centre where their food, clothes, medicals and educational needs were provided by Bishop Anthony Adaji.

Now that the waters have receded, it is time for the industrious farmers and fishermen to go back home after this dinner by the way Bishop that leaves them with a feeling of nostalgia.
Bishop Adaji thinks that the flood challenges are surmountable if the government takes it seriously.
The relationship between the Ibaji people and the Catholic Church is unique. This is because beyond the care during the flood disaster, the only functional educational institutions in Ibaji land are majorly owned by the Catholic Church with students practically studying free
