An unspecified number of houses and farms in different communities across Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, North-Central Nigeria have been destroyed by flood.

No life has officially been reported lost as a result of the flood, which the victims attributed to a blockage, due to the ongoing construction of the Zungeru Dam.

The victims through their spokesman, Sani Qoqi, noted that the authorities concerned did not carry out sensitization on the measures to be adopted, to avert the dangers of flooding.

Flood victims are temporarily putting up with their relations in communities that are not affected by the flooding.

They have called on the government and non-governmental organizations to come to their aid, as a matter of urgency.
