A former Inspector General of Police( IGP) and Chairman, Police Service Commission Mike Okiro has expressed grave concerns over the role played by some policemen during the last presidential and National Assembly elections which held in February.
The former police boss wants the incumbent IGP , Alkali Baba to deal decisively with policemen who watched helplessly even as hired thugs engage in election violence.
Mike Okiro who briefed Journalists in Lagos ahead of the coming Governorship and state house of Assembly poll on Saturday condemned in unequivocal terms election violence and intimidation of voters.

He further explained that the international community is watching the development with profound interest as it unfolds to see how open and credible the general election will turn out as it would go a long way to determine how the country’s image would be perceived.
