The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has refuted a purported list of ambassadorial nominees circulating on social media, describing it as entirely fabricated.
The spokesperson of the Ministry, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, in a telephone conversation with ait.live says no ambassadorial nominations have been made and reminded the public that such decisions rest solely with President Bola Tinubu.
He clarified that President Tinubu will transmit the list of nominees to the National Assembly for screening and confirmation according to the law.

Ambassadors in Nigeria mission abroad were recalled over a year ago, leaving critical diplomatic posts unfilled.
The delay in appointments has fueled speculation, with unverified information spreading on social media, including the fake list circulating on social media since on Sunday, 6th April 2025
