One time president of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG , Achese Igwe who is the Chairman of former Labour Union Leaders Association in Rivers State has commended Governor Siminalaiye Fubara for the bold step he has taken to ensure that the recent political crisis in the state was amicably resolved for the benefit of the people.
In a statement in Port Harcourt, the former Labour leader called on Governor Fubara to be resolute in implementing the Presidential proclamation in line with the will of Rivers State people who are committed to protecting democracy and the rule of law.
Igwe praised the doggedness of all well-meaning people of Rivers State and beyond particularly the chiefs, elders, youths and women who stood by Governor Fubara during the trying times.
On the delivery of the dividends of democracy, he commended the Governor for the recent payment of N100,000 Christmas bonus to civil servants and the restoration of solar-powered lights, water and elevators at the Rivers State Secretariat.
