Former Governor of Oyo State and Otun Olubadan, Rashidi Ladoja has been crowned as an Oba by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin.
Acting State Governor, Adebayo Lawal officially presented the staff and instruments of office to the newly crowned Oba at the Palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The Oke-Aremo palace of the Olubadan went agog as former Governor Ladoja who was against the wearing of beaded crown by Ibadan High chiefs now accepted to wear one.
Speaking during the official coronation ceremony, Acting Governor Lawal said the amendment of the Oyo State Chieftaincy Law was for royalty and monarchy in the state to be well-founded and established.
Oba Ladoja expressed appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde and the people of Ibadanland, praying for more prosperity, peace, and development in Ibadan.
The Araba of Ibadanland and Olu of Isese, Ifalere Odegbami had officially crowned Oba Ladoja in line with traditional rites.
With the coronation of Oba Rashidi Ladoja, all the controversies surrounding the issue of beaded crown in Ibadanland have been laid to rest.
