At least four bodies including those of a mother and her child have so far been recovered from the raging pipeline fire in Ekoro area of Lagos State, South-West Nigeria.
The fire was reportedly caused by an explosion from vandalised Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, pipeline.
The incident caused panic among residents within Awori, U-turn, and Pipeline communities in Abule Egba neighborhood of the city state.

The Director-General of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Olufemi Oke-Osanyitolu, who confirmed this in a statement, said that officials of LASEMA, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, and the Lagos State Fire Service are responding and on top of the situation.
According to NEMA spokesperson, Ibrahim Farinloye, there is no estimate of the buildings affected yet but several articulated vehicles were affected by the inferno.
The explosion was said to have started around 7:20 pm.
As at the time of filing this report, NNPC Safety Unit had made deployments that were approaching from Mosimi to put out the fire.
