The Nigerian Railway Corporation has announced the commencement of free train services from Thursday December 21, 2023 to Thursday January 4, 2024. This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday.
The corporation which said the gesture is in compliance with a directive from President Bola Tinubu, advised prospective passengers to obtain their free travel tickets through the online platforms as there would be no issuance of the tickets at the train stations. It emphasized that without tickets, no passenger would be eligible to board the train.
The NRC also urged the passengers to ensure orderliness and total compliance with all boarding procedures while at the stations and on board the trains.

The Nigerian Railway Corporation recently launched online ticketing platforms for the Itakpe Warri and Lagos Ibadan railways.
