Abducted worshippers of the Kurmin Wali church attack who recently regained their freedom have returned to their community to reunite with their families after receiving medical and psychosocial support in Kaduna.
It was an emotional homecoming as survivors of the church attack departed the rehabilitation facility to reunite with their loved ones, two weeks after regaining freedom from captivity on February 5.
Following their release, the victims were moved to a government facility in Kaduna, where they received medical care and psychosocial support to help them recover from the trauma of their ordeal.
After weeks of treatment and counseling, the survivors are now stable and psychologically fit to return home and resume their lives.

Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Hadiza Balarabe, who received and addressed them, commended their courage and resilience, assuring that the administration of Governor Uba Sani remains committed to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
She urged the community to remain united and to continue supporting government efforts aimed at strengthening security and restoring lasting peace.
The survivors expressed appreciation to the state government and security agencies for facilitating their release and providing care during their recovery.
As the community welcomes them back, attention now turns to rebuilding confidence, reinforcing resilience, and ensuring that such tragic incidents do not recur.
