The Consulate General of France in Lagos, Laurent Favier, has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to deepening trade and investment relations with Nigeria.
He said the French Government remains fully focused on fostering sustainable development, promoting technology transfer, and strengthening bilateral cooperation that would drive job creation and inclusive growth for Nigeria.
Favier made the remarks at a Press Conference organized by the Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) to commemorate the Chamber’s 40th anniversary and the commencement of the 2025 French Week.

The Consulate General explained that the France-Nigeria relationship centered on deepening cooperation in agribusiness, tech, and investment, as well as exploring how France and Nigeria can invest in each other for mutual growth.

Guillaume Niarfeix, President of Franco-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry said France accounts for 20% of its Sub Saharan trade with Nigeria, supporting over 16,000 direct and 100,000 indirect jobs in the country.
He notes that the 2025 France Week offers opportunity to expand collaboration in oil, gas, tech, renewable energy, and smart city development.
