State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Loveth Odah who confirmed the incident to ait.live said, the strong resistance by the policemen on duty, repelled further attacks, thereby denying the gunmen access to the station’s armory.
Odah said the slain policeman died in the hospital due to the gunshot injuries he sustained during the attack.
The latest attack on the police station comes barely 2 weeks after gunmen stormed the 2 communities of Isu and Onicha-Igboeze in Onicha Local Government Area killing 8 persons including 2 policemen and 2 lawyers.
