Mixed reactions have been trailing the conversion of Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe from Christianity to Islam.
Aigbe made known her new faith at a Ramadan lecture and special prayers event, jointly hosted by her and husband Kazeem Adeoti in Lagos at the weekend.
In a viral video interview, the actress also revealed her new name as Meenah.
Her words:
“Insha Allah, My new name is Hajia Meenah Mercy Adeoti. Meenah with the H,”.
The actress also hinted on plans to proceed on Holy pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Nollywood actors Adebayo Salami popularly known as Oga Bello, Fathia Balogun, Kemi Afolabi, Femi Adebayo among others graced the Ramadan lecture in honour of Mercy.
Recall Mercy Aigbe in 2022 got married to popular film marketer Kazim Adeoti Adekaz as a second wife.
