Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has taken another step in rebuilding his cabinet with the swearing-in of five new commissioners.

The development follows their screening and confirmation by the Rivers State House of Assembly from a list of nine nominees earlier forwarded to the lawmakers by the governor.

The move is coming a month after he dissolved his cabinet.

The five commissioners are among the nine nominees earlier sent by Governor Fubara to the Rivers State House of Assembly for screening.

Following their appearance before the lawmakers, the Assembly cleared five of the nominees, paving the way for their formal inauguration into the State Executive Council.

The development signals another phase in the Governor’s efforts to reconstitute his cabinet after its dissolution, a move widely interpreted as part of ongoing political realignments within the state’s leadership structure.

The Governor charged the new commissioners to see their appointments as a call to service and to work with dedication, transparency, and loyalty in advancing the administration’s development Agenda for Rivers State.

He reminded the commissioners that the expectations of Rivers people remain high, urging them to bring their wealth of experience to bear in delivering policies and programmes that will impact citizens across the state positively
