Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, (NMDPRA), Adamawa State Field Office, has embarked on Monitoring Operation in Yola, the state capital to contain the looming fuel scarcity.

For over two weeks, there has been resurfacing queues at petrol filling stations in the Adamawa State capital.

This has necessitated the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, to draw the attention of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.

The NLC accused the fuel marketers of hoarding petroleum products and creating artificial fuel scarcity.

Consequently, the regulatory body embarked on a monitoring exercise.

The Field Operation Controller, Sadiq Ibrahim, revealed that some marketers are hoarding petroleum products, in anticipation of a hike in pump price.

Petrol filling stations found wanting, have been warned and directed to dispense fuel to motorists or be sanctioned.
