As long queues for the Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, persists in Bauchi, the residents are calling on the Federal Government to call to order the midstream and downstream petroleum regulatory authorities saddled with the responsibility of regulating the sales in Nigeria.
The residents alleged that most of the products are being diverted to local governments and are being sold at above the government-approved price.
The long queues are becoming embarrassing as cars, tricycles, as well as motorcycles, wait endlessly to get PMS, due to the scarcity of the commodity in the state capital.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, had made the commitment to Nigerians that, there will be enough supply of the products, but the situation has not improved in Bauchi.
Most of the queues are only seen in the state capital, where the products are on sale at the government-approved price.

The Bauchi residents while lamenting the untold hardship they are facing, have expressed disappointment at the Federal Government and its agencies’ that are saddled with the responsibility of regulating the products.
The Operations Controller for the Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority in Bauchi, Iliyasu Abdullahi, who was speaking at one of the fuel stations while monitoring sales said, the agency is doing all it could to control the sales within the state capital.
The question in the minds of many Nigerians is, when will these queues disappear?
