Residents of Edo state have continued to react to the hike in the price of Premium Motor Spirit also known as petrol amidst the suspension of the planned strike by the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC over the subsidy removal in the country.
Though most of them commended the removal of petrol subsidy and the suspension of the planned strike by organized labour, they also expressed their disappointment at the inability of the federal government to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal on the populace.

The Nigeria Labour Congress NLC in the face of the hardship had planned to down tools on Wednesday.
But a court order forced the labour union to put a hold to the industrial action.
Citizens of Edo state applauded the move to suspend the strike which they say may not be the right step towards getting solutions to the present situation.
As Nigerians continue to wait for ways to reduce the hardships they faced daily, some state governments including Edo are already making plans to cushion the effects on its workers.
