Most filling Stations in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital have been experiencing low patronage, due to the hike in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, whose current price of Five Hundred and Forty Naira per litre cannot be afforded by several people.

Some of the residents of Gusau metropolis said the new PMS price is imposing further hardship on Nigerians, thereby seeking the need for government’s intervention.

The New Pump Price of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS is five hundred and Forty Naira per litre in Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria.

Residents are crying over the increase, saying the development is aggravating the already harsh economic situation of many Nigerians.

They want the government to intervene for the sake of the masses.

During a visit to some filling stations in the Gusau metropolis, it was observed that though filling stations were dispensing petrol, only a few vehicles were patronising.

At the Gusau Central Motor Park, commercial drivers were also lamenting the lack of passengers.

The drivers said, the fare per passengers before the hike was three thousand Naira to Kano but has now been hiked to four thousand.

Some commercial motor cycle riders, tricycle operators and drivers have already parked their vehicles because they can not cope.

They are now contemplating other alternatives.
