A fuel tanker burst into flames inside the Mechanic village located at Otto Wharf by Signals Barracks, Nigerian Army , mile 2 axis of Lagos state.
The tanker which was said to have exploded at about 3.44pm Tuesday was laden with product when it exploded inside the Mechanic village.
There were no casualties resulting from the incident as emergency responders from both the federal and state fire services including officials from the National Emergency Management Agency ( NEMA) and Lagos state emergency management Agency(LASEMA) rushed to the scene of the incident to contain the fire from spreading further .

Meanwhile there was an allegation of careless operations of a panel beater welding under a truck nearby that ignited the spark that caused the explosion which was not taken seriously at first.
