FUTA Student Set To Break Longest Speech Marathon Record

Christopher Olusa, a postgraduate student at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, is on the Verge of breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest speech Marathon by an individual.

Olusa who commenced his speech Marathon on Monday, September 11 2023, has now hit over 90 hours and is aiming to set a new world record of 120 hours.

Ananta Ram, a Nepali, is the current holder of the record after achieving the longest speech marathon of 90 hours and 2 mins, in Kathmandu, Nepal from 27 to 31 August 2018.

Now, a 24-year-old indigene of Akoko, in Ondo State, Christopher Bayode Olusa, referred to as “The Duke” is about changing the record set in Kathmandu in 2018, with a drive to set a new world record.

According to Olusa, he obtained approval from the Guinness World Record before embarking on the journey.

The venue of the marathon speech has now become a centre of attraction as individuals from all walks of life come visiting on daily basis to cheer and inspire young Christopher Bayode olusa.

Olusa’s desire to set a new speech marathon world record of 120 hours is expected to be completed in the early hours of Saturday.
