The People of Bille Community in Degema local Government Area of Rivers state have raised a Save Our Soul message following the Gas eruption in the area
The call was intensified when the leadership of the Eastern Zone of the Ijaw Youth Congress IYC visited the Community for an on the spot assessment. The group expressed shock as they called on the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and other relevance agencies to urgently come to their aid.
Bubbles of High pressure natural Gas can practicaly be seen emitting from potable water facilties, local boreholes, wells and the surrounding Rivers within the community taking a toll on public Health and socio-economic activities as observed by AIT correspondent.

Leader of the IYC delegetion prince Datolu Sukubo decribed the situation as emergency while calling on the federal government and its agencies to expediate Action inorder to avert the looming danger in Bille Community
Some community leaders and women who spoke to journalists narrated the negative impacts of the situation to their health and sources of livelihood while calling for urgent steps to save the lives and property of the People of Bille
They called on the Minister of state for Petroleum to visit the areas and see the level of damage the eruption has caused inorder to squarly address the situation before it wrecks more havoc in the community.
