Police Officers’ Wives in Kogi State say there is a need for all stakeholders to accelerate actions to stop all forms of victimization against women, especially the girl child.
The police officers wives who said this during a roadshow to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day, with the theme: “Accelerate Action” renewed their commitment to gender equality, the education of the girl child, and the need to sustain peace in Kogi State.

The wife of Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Bessie Dantawaye, who delivered a message from the wife of the Inspector General of Police at the occasion, condemned the spate of early marriages in Kogi State and the renewed calls for a stop to the practice.
Medical professionals sensitized the gathering on critical health issues ranging from personal hygiene, antenatal care to family planning and menopause.
