A civil society Organization under the auspices of Coalition against gender based Violence Responders has accused the police of attempting to compromise the autopsy report on the death of the fourteen year old Keren Happuch Akpagher who was alleged to have died of sepsis from a decayed condom Left inside her by unknown person.
The leader of the group Lemmy Ughegbe who on Monday addressed the media on the autopsy report, the content of which is yet to be fully disclosed by the police, is demanding for immediate transfer of the case to the office of the Inspector General of Police in the interest of justice.

Keren Happuch Akpagher, a fourteen year old student of Premier Academy LUGBE died in June 2021 from sepsis, a complication from alleged condom left inside of her private part by an unknown person according to an initial medical report.
The parent and activists pursuing the case believe an official in the school she attended is responsible, a claim the school has consistently denied. It has since been a waiting game for the autopsy report to conclusively determine the cause of her death.
The report, was eventually released to the police who held on to it until last week when the family was called to a meeting and intimated about it.
But instead of providing them a copy of the report, the family and the activists say the police held on to it and only released sketchy details of its content.
At a media briefing on Monday, the family and activists pursuing the case say they have lost confidence in the FCT police command to continue with the investigation of the matter and are calling for immediate transfer of the case to the office of the Inspector General of Police in the interest of justice.
However, the Head of the FCT Command’s criminal investigation department Fom Joseph who confirmed the release of the autopsy report says though the report confirmed the case of rape, the determination of who committed the rape can only be established through a DNA test which the command is currently working on.
The Police also insist that it will make the report public once the investigation of everything and everyone connected to the death of Keren is concluded.
