The General Officer Commanding, (GOC) 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, has warned community leaders, parents and guardians to caution their wards against taking the laws into their hands.
He gave the warning during an on-the-spot assessment of the situation in Bukuru, after some miscreants clashed with enforcement agents of the Jos Metropolitan Development Board.
Miscreants sought to turn disagreements with the Plateau State Executive Order Enforcement Team of the Jos Metropolitan Development Board, clearing street traders, to unleashing mayhem on members of the public.
Pharmacist Kandi Pam, was almost burnt alive with his wife in their shop.
Other traders urged security agencies to clamp down on troublemakers who are bent on making the state ungovernable.
The Commander of the Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven, while calling for calm, urged those not satisfied with government policies to seek redress at the appropriate channel.
As of the time of this report, the situation has been brought under control, with traders watching cautiously before resuming business.
