Local governments in Gombe state have started preventive programmes against the spread of cholera.
Shongom local government is one of such that has introduced the monthly sanitation and also encouraged households in the community by awarding cash prizes to cleanest them.
This is no doubt a simple initiative in tackling the scourge of cholera in the state.
Though Go be state is not amongst the states that have any sign of the virus, most of the local governments have started preventive programmes aimed at tackling it.
For Gombe local government area, the monthly environmental sanitation has also started but it’s intensified at the rural communities when prevention and enlightenment is gaining momentum
At the moment there are no reports of the outbreak of the disease but local governments are not taking chances against it.
