The National Body of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinibu to as a matter of urgency investigate the activities of individuals using religion be it Christianity or Islam for criminal purposes that will cause harm to the people.

CAN’s Vice president Rev Dr Panya Baba while lamenting the cost of the Easter incident on the lives of the people in Billiri Local Government praised Gombe State Governor for swift response to the plight of the people injured from the unfortunate incident.

A visit to the injured individuals from the Easter incident in Billiri at State Specialist Hospital and the Federal Teaching Hospital revealed the extent of injuries on victims from the hit and run accident that claimed six lives.

For individuals who lost their loved ones, it’s still a rude shock and agony.

For members of the Christian Association of Nigeria, the incident calls for proper investigation.

CAN also commended the swift action of the Gombe State Government in ensuring that the injured received prompt treatment while also prosecuting the sole culprit in the unfortunate act.

With the prosecution of the culprit involved in the incident the Christian Body called on Christians in the State and the Country to be law abiding believing the Government of the day would ensure justice and security for the people.
