The Benue State Government has proposed the plan to development 3000 housing units to provide good shelter for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Benue State.
Governor Hyacinth Alia who tabled the proposal when he received a delegation from the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) at Government House in Makurdi the State capital.
This United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) delegation led by the Assistant High Commissioner for Operations, accompanied by the German Ambassador to Nigeria were received at by the Governor and top State government officials.
The Governor as part of working partnership, approved an old office complex formerly owned by the State Ministry of Information, which is located along Barracks road in Makurdi city to the United Nations for UN activities in the State.
The UNHCR delegation along with the State Governor proceed to the IDP camp at Ichwa in North Bank area of Makurdi where he conducted the team round the facility.
